What next?

I've managed to knock off quite a few projects over the last few weeks. I took this photo about a month ago I guess, and I've managed to finish every item in that messy pile. In fact I only have 2 current outstanding WIPS - one is secret knitting business, affectionately dubbed 'big red' and is currently 85% finished, and the other is a pair of socks I'm knitting for Amber - both projects are still enjoyable but I'm definitely feeling a pull towards casting on something new - what that is, I'm not entirely certain. I've accumulated some nice sock yarn lately, but I really don't know that I could face socks again right now. I really do want to knit from stash too, which is not really a limiting option, considering I have quite a bit of lovely yarn in it, but it seems that everything I do want to knit doesn't quite fit the yarn I have. I'm considering knitting the Tangled Yoke Cardigan, which is totally out-of-season, but I'm definitely feeling the need to begin a new, challenging, and sizable project. The plus with this project is that I have the yarn here, ready and waiting to start. I guess the other thing that is making me hesitant to start, is Christmas gift-knitting hanging over my head. I've pretty much finished all my knit gifts for my knit-pals, but I've challenged myself to knit gifts for all my sister-in-laws too, which I'm now finding myself lacking motivation to do - gah! I should stop stalling and just get on with it!

Ahh you are so good! I am totally put off of all manner of Christmas knitting and I don't know why...

My guess is I can't stand committed knitting lol.

You are organised that all Christmas knitting is done. I am knitting dishcloths for Christmas & still have quite a few to go. I think I should be able to make it.

Gosh I kind of know what you mean... I have quite a few WIPs at the moment but I think the fact that I have a deadline for them is killing the motivation! I look at them and think, hmm, I really need to work on those and....I don't...
I think the other thing too is that I am drawn more to the things that I know will *definitely* be appreciated, hence my eagerness to ditch family knitting to do swap stuff instead, LOL!!
Sorry for the ramble...LOL

Well done for churning through that whole pile! It looks the way my house is at the moment...full of stray yarns and half-finished wips!! I am about to knit the Elisa Nest Tote bag from Purl Bee (free pattern) for my mother for Christmas.
