Yesterday contained such a spectrum of emotions for me. The highlights were our wonderful Stitch'n'bitch Christmas get together and the sharing of gifts and laughter. I was lucky enough to be the recipient of this beautiful Wollmeise scarf made by Jack, it really is quite stunning in real life, the colours are incredibly vibrant and it is LONG, just the way I like scarves! If the weather continues on it's current trend, then I may be able to wear it right through summer - yay! Tania spoilt me with some beautiful hand-made soap, a gorgeous button and some teal Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran - I love this stuff, and I already have a plan for it. It was a lovely night and just what I needed... thanks girls :)
The lowlight and the goodbye was the passing of our long-time pet Ally. I keep saying to the kids that she was 'really old', but she was only 13 which isn't quite the average of the house-kept moggy. I tend to think she lived a bit of a rock star lifestyle, hard and fast in her youth which shaved years off her lifespan. She was a fighter and very territorial for a female, and in her younger years we always had her at the vet for cysts and wounds and even a broken leg which you could tell was getting arthritic as she got older. She suddenly stopped eating several days ago, and on an already frail and bony frame, she was weak and rickety and not well. The decision to euthanise was hard, but I think it was the right thing to do... the family have taken it hard, as did I, but I hope today will not be such a sad day for all of us, and after all Christmas is tomorrow :) Goodbye Ally xx (please forgive this maudlin outpouring, I'm sure to return to normal perkiness soon ;) )

So special she was even allowed on the Liz. ;) I am sorry you had to say goodbye to Ally, it is always sad to to say goodbye to a member of the family.
Sorry about Ally, but I love the life she lived. She was rock star chic.
Before we all head off I will drop in 2 more additional balls of the JS today, 8 skeins would be handy.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
What a pretty girl! And how lucky, since she knew that those she loved were with her in her last moments. We should all be so lucky.
Everyone at our house (furry and otherwise) will say a special prayer for Ally and your family.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas, no matter what.
hugs Sam, so sorry for your loss xo
oh dear...give everyone big hugs. Such a sad thing for famly to go through. She was loved so much towards her end with Max's special T.L.C, he will miss her! She had a good innings considering she was the Keith Richards of the cat world.
It's always nice to meet up with knitty friends. Sorry to hear about your pet. Merry Christmas.
(((hugs))) Sam. Sorry to hear about your Ally puddy cat :(.
