Did I say knitting blog?

Well if it is, I better produce some goods, because I just realised that last 4 posts have had no knitting in them at all! Of the many knitted items I've produced pre and post Christmas, I think this is by far the loveliest! It's Juno Regina published in Fall Knitty 2007, which I began way back in March last year. It's made from Knit Picks Gloss in the 'Pumpkin' colourway and which is a 4ply silk/merino blend, that still has that faint slightly fishy smell that silk tends to have. It was my first real lace attempt and was a totally rivetting knit right up to the long and boring and TEDIOUS middle section. It was only the threat of not having a hand-made gift ready for my dearest mother-in-law for Christmas that got my bum into gear. The actual lace part was fun, interesting and a challenge, and I think signals the fact that I'm ready for some real lace action!

The lace blocking was as deeply satisfying and exciting as I've heard, and was made all the more pleasing due to the use of a lace blocking kit which Jacki kindly loaned me.
I'm undecided as to my next lace project. I'm not sure I'm ready for something really complicated, but I think I would enjoy something which doesn't have the same 2 rows repeated again and again for 42 inches!

Lovely. I've been wanting to make it but have been put off by the dull section. Yours is gorgeous.

Gorgeous - congrats on finishing it! This has been in my queue but I've been hesitant because I know the middle will be a drag - but yours is so pretty that I just may have to move this up!

Wow, this is really beautiful.

I find repetition in a pattern to be quite hypnotic, mind numbingly relaxing after a shitty day.
