Kingdom

2 weeks ago I realised that if I continued to work on the 2 projects I was dividing my time between, that I wouldn't get either of them done in time for the Bendigo Wool and Sheep Show. So I decided to focus on my Kingdom Gloves in lieu of my Urban Aran, and worked diligently enough to get my gloves done in time. STUPIDLY I left them at home, so suffered through the show with cold hands, and missed a wonderful opportunity to show them off to people who would have truly appreciated them! gah! So here they are anyway!
They are knit in Colinette Jitterbug from Sarah Durrant who is a delightful lady and very quick with her mail order. I loved the Jitterbug experience so much that I indulged in 2 more skeins at the Wool Show in the colourways 'Salty Dog' and 'Elephant's Daydream', both semi-solids - While the yarn is a beautiful base, some of the highly variegated Jitterbug colours can be a bit extreme (Tania renamed her Jitterbug colourway to 'clown barf')! I knit them on 2.25mm knitpicks dpns, which were a perfect match for the yarn. I can't rave enough about this pattern, it's just perfectly wonderful when a pattern just works with no fudging or uncertainty or frogging because of some lack of clarity in directions. The Bendigo Wool and Sheep Show was wonderful as always, but once again I forgot my camera! It was lovley to put some faces to Ravelry names, and to be able to share the excitement of some woolly purchases. I over indulged again, and so begins my YARN DIET.

I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE YARN UNTIL 2010..

Any purchases will be confiscated by Jacki, and I will be punished by having to watch her knit it.

Oh wow, you know why you left your gloves behind? Because deep in your subconscious you knew they were so magnificent that they'd be spirited away by nifty hands otherwise!! pmsl!

Fantastic gloves! I took a hat and scarf, but it was too warm for them Friday, so I left them in the car. There were people everywhere, suffering in their woollens. lol.

In 2010 you're going to have so much money, you can have a big January splurge. :D

The gloves look fantastic & it's a pity that you did not wear them to the show. Yarn diet - I need to be on it too!
