ok so I haven't frogged yet.....

I'm going to.. I just wanted to take some pics before I did but my dodgy rechargeable batteries keep losing their charge before I can use them in my camera. I got my timing right though and here are some pics before I do the deed:
Close up detail of cable. I'm not sure about tweed for this project as it makes the cables look wonkier than they actually are. Lots of people seem to use it specifically for aran projects, so maybe they're meant to look wonky, or maybe if I used a more 'consistant' yarn then it would show up all the imperfections (of which I'm sure there will be many) That's the twisted stockinette down beneath the cable - see how it's formed a bias hem? I don't like it.. have I said that already?

Side view showing how much I've done *sigh* and front view showing the kangaroo pocket.

Finally a non-Rogue pic. This is the kids hoodie I'm doing for Max in the self-striping rainbow colourway in 'Karaoke' - 50%wool 50%soysilk. I'm not sure that I really like it - I think I've decided I'm not a fan of self-striping yarn - it's too fiddly and wasteful trying to keep the stripe pattern consistant, during ball and shaping changes. I'm also a bit peeved that the first ball I used had a massive clumpy mess in the middle and basically half the ball was unusable.

ahhhh sam what a pita :( I had the same prob with my Wicked (using tweed). I really like cables to look defined so had to frogged it all and get new yarn :( Love the colours in the jumper but I hear you about the self striping - pure evil!! :)

oh Sam RIP Rogue :( I like how the hoodie is shaping up though - the colours are fab. Will steer clear of self-striping.

the hoodie looks cool, even if it is a PITA :)

Well i won't be getting tweed now will I??????

My sis wants Rogue, so I am doing it for her.

What other wool would you have chosen Sam???

I like the self striping, but know exactly what you mean about changing balls and stuff :(

i'm pretty certain I *won't* be using the rowan tweed for this project now. I'm getting desperate.. If I wasn't such a slob I would definitely use the aran BFL I have sitting on my shelf, but cream... ???

Yeah cream not good. Cream would spend a lot of time at the bottom of the laundry basket waiting to be hand washed at my house. ;)
