Cursed Wool and Jack Bauer

I shouldn't call is 'cursed wool' - it was really all my fault. Impatience and stupidity on my behalf are really to blame. I did curse the wool a fair bit while I was trying to ball it though! I don't dye enough to be good at it. Infact, I don't think I've ever totally ended up with a dyed yarn how I envisioned - rarely a total failure, but often unexpected results. With this particular skein, I didn't even really plan the colours, I simply used what I had already mixed, but my biggest mistake was to not tie the skein properly, which left it a total mess. I don't know what possessed me to just take it off the swift and drop it on the floor.....
but after about an hour I ended up with these pretties...
I currently have no plans for them, but it's nice to have hand-dyed yarn in the stash for those spur-of-the-moment knits.

The reason I had the dyes out in the first place was to dye some sock yarn. I carefully planned this colourway, but it didn't turn out how I hoped. I'm still pleased with it though. I hope my Woolaholics secret sock-yarn swappee is too.
I've finally realised that Jack Bauer is my knitting nemesis. While he makes me knit FAST, he also makes me knit WRONG! I must make a point of chosing simple knits while watching 24. I just cannot concentrate on the derring-do of the heroic Jack and knit at the same time. On numerous occassions I have either knit too far, too tight, too wrong, or in the latest disaster, too short....
Notice some particular dodginess around the right arm? Yeah.. whoops..

Finally, I have one FO to show. This hat is knit in beautiful Bluemerino from ZenString.. it is so incredibly soft, and the colours are just lovely. Despite Patricks fake smile, he really does like it.

Love the colours Sam, you must show me IRL on Friday. The stripes on the hoodie look great and Paddy's hat is just precious. :)

Oh have been hanging out for a blog post!

Well the first lot of yarn is lovely, but suprisingly familiar as far as colourways go :P. The second is fabbo though! Great colours.

Stipey hoodie looks wonderful ( I guess you're going to fix the sleeve?)

And last but definitely not least, cute hat!!

ITA re: JB, I mean unless I'm knitting straight stockingette I rarely ever 'watch' 24 while knitting, generally just listen!
