The Great Stash Migration

I noticed an interesting and seemingly common phenomenon at a fellow crafter's house today, and thought it would be worth commenting on.

Most knitters have a stash, and generally that stash has a home. In the case of some people, the stash spreads and grows and eventually has perhaps several homes, but nonetheless, there is a resting place for it.

I noticed the other day that I had developed a large basket of 'transient' stash. Yarn that had arrived home, had been unpacked and petted but had not yet been put away into the designated stash cupboard.
Dropping by Jacki's today, I noticed that she has a temporary stash home too. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure Tania has started to amass quite a large amount of stash on her tellie cabinet as well. Personally, I like to keep new stash close by to see if it calls to me, I like to have it close to hand to fondle and admire and when finally it doesn't feel so shiny and new anymore, then it's allowed to go live with the rest of the stash.

I don't think my stash is too out of control yet, but I must remember to visit with it every now and again to remember what is in it, and rediscover what might have been relegated to the bottom of the pile.

RESOLVE: Shop the stash before hitting the 'buy now' button!

How dare you discuss my stash issues in public! I don't have a problem, I don't have a problem, I don't have a problem....

All my stash has a pattern connected to it. I have even started to photo copy the pictures, so I can keep track.Helps me keep track of the new yarn that follows me home;)

All knitters must have a stash - it's part of knitting. I love shopping in my stash !
