*cough* I caught a virus....

And the virus's name was 'Ishbel'.One is in Noro and is for a swap (shhhhh...) and one is in Wollmeise Twin La Digitessa.
I love a good viral knit.. there is something very reassuring about knitting something that has been knit by hundreds, or perhaps even thousands of people before me. The fact that any errata gets ironed out way before I begin is a big bonus, but there is also the joy of seeing the item knit in dozens of different yarns, and in a myriad of different colours, and reading and seeing about modifications people have made and problems they encountered. I think people who avoid popular patterns just because they are popular are missing out on what is often a great pattern. Popular patterns don't become so for no reason!

I'm definitely not one to shy away from the knitting bandwagon, and of the top 20 most popular patterns in Raverly (as of today), I have knit 10 .

Fetching
Monkey
Baby Surprise Jacket
Calorimetry
Clapotis
Saartje's Booties
February Lady Sweater
Noro Striped Scarf
Ballband dishcloth
Sock Recipe
Swallowtail Shawl
Turn a Square - Ravelry Link
Felted Clogs
Koolhaus
Jaywalker
Lace Ribbon Scarf
One Row Handspun Scarf
My So Called Scarf
Ishbel
February Baby Sweater - Ravelry Link

How about you?

It is a lovely knit, i'm going to see how many of the top 20 I've knit too. Doubt it will be as many as you though

You just whipped up TWO? I love the red one, but the noro one is cool Ü. I think I've only done two of the top 20...

I used to think I didn't knit popular patterns until I did a search a while ago and surprised myself! It is so true about well worn patterns having had all the kinks worked out already - it gives a real sense of security as the knitting starts!

This is my first visit to your blog - I popped over after seeing your huge collection of finished projects on your ravelry page!

I have only made Saartje's booties. Not a popular person here!

Beautiful work!
