many things....

Firstly I present the Noro scarf! It doesn't really look much, but it in fact quite delicious in real-life. Or perhaps it's a case of 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder', regardless, I love it and loved making it.

Secondly I'd like to confess my panic that April is half over and I do not have an end in sight for Mingus. I've finished the first sock, and have finished the first repeat on the second sock, but I have lost all momentum and motivation. I'm still hoping to regain some enthusiasm for it and sign it off as my April sock in the SAM5 challenge, but I do actually have an 'emergency sock' on standby, which is also only half a pair done, but would really only take perhaps 2 sittings to finish it off. (what has my life come to, where I feel compelled to have emergency socks?)Anyhoo, thirdly I have begun an afghan. Actually, I shouldn't be speaking that fact aloud, as I really still haven't actually committed to it yet. I have made 2 blocks, and started on a third. It may still become a cushion, a baby blanket a bag or some other smaller object yet. The pattern is Lizard Ridge from Knitty fall 2006, and I was unwillingly (true I tell you!!) coerced into an impromptu knit-a-long at Woolaholics. Those evil women, flaunting their Noro at me, and directing me to the most exquisite examples of the blanket ;) ! I decided against the Noro, due to the cost factor involved, and also availability, and opted instead for Cleckheaton Vintage Hues. I'm really happy with the substitution so far, and if I do decide to go the full distance and knit the 24 panels required for this project, then it should only have cost me around the $70AUD mark (instead of the $200 - $300 mark for the Noro!)

The scarf is lovely & looks so soft & warm. Great idea to substitute the Noro yarn - it's really too much for a blanket. Gorgeous colors.
